SOMETIMES YOU FAIL (IT’S OKAY TO LAUGH…)

The moment of impact…

We’ve all gone down the rabbit hole of watching gym fail compilations on YouTube. I think part of the draw to these videos is that they are so much more relatable for most people than the videos posted online from celebrity trainers, influencers, and bodybuilders. Also, assuming the person is okay, they are hilarious!

This happened as I was in the midst of a home workout using all resistance bands…I’ll post the full workout soon (bloopers included)

Check out the full video at the bottom with reactions from my “friends” for a good laugh.

Here’s the thing though…Instagram and YouTube can be deceiving. NOBODY, not even your favorite fitness instructor is perfect! People post their healthy plate, but not their cheat meal…or even worse, people post their cheat meal but not the 99% of the time they are eating clean and sacrificing. It’s a dangerous game-making fitness look too easy, unattainable, or flawless and it’s a quick way to turn someone off from starting a new fitness routine.

So with that in mind, know that it’s okay to fail. It’s okay to have setbacks. And in best case scenarios we learn from our mistakes and adapt. When failure does happen, it might just help to swallow your ego and learn to laugh at yourself!

Pro Tip: Always attach your resistance bands securely before use!

  1. Great post, I’ve been struggling with this concept postpartum. I keep getting frustrated that my endurance, strength, and diet aren’t what they used to be. Trying to learn to love the process!
