A FEW OF MY FAVORITE SMOOTHIE RECIPES

One of the most despicable sideshows associated with fear of the Coronavirus has been supplement companies and social media “influencers,” trying to sell “immune boosters,” supplements, and services. There is no magic cure or shield from viruses! That being said, a combination of a healthy, well-balanced diet, exercise, and ample amounts of sleep have been linked to good health, decreased stress, and a strong immune system.

With that in mind, here are a few of my favorite smoothie recipes. Smoothies are a quick way to get protein, vitamins, and other nutrients in a well-balanced meal. In many of the recipes, fruit is used to cut the bitterness (especially in green smoothies). It is important to note that while you always hear “fruit has sugar, but it’s the healthy kind,” that ALL sugar gets broken down into GLUCOSE. If you are struggling with weight loss, or you have other health conditions such as diabetes, you will want to WATCH YOUR SUGAR INTAKE (Even from fruits).
