Fitness Improving Together through Knowledge, Instruction, Demonstrations, and Support

Now that I’ve captured your attention with cute dogs rocking FitkidsTraining apparel, I want to discuss something serious.
Everyone knows that the world has changed, probably forever, in the last two months. The sad reality, however, is that the impact of change is hitting some worse than others.
Since mid-March, 1 in 5 American workers has filed for unemployment benefits. Many Americans that DO qualify for stimulus checks have not yet received their money, and many more are still hurting financially, regardless. With many Americans unsure of where their next paycheck is coming from, some, for the first time, are not sure where their next meal is coming from. Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, is struggling to meet rising demands.
In the past couple of weeks, I have been humbled and honored to lead the charge in a fundraising effort called Pennies for Push-ups, with all proceeds going directly to Feeding America. I work at a school, so we have been blessed with a caring community, eager to rise to the challenge and help our neighbors in need.
The Premise: Each week, my students have been introduced to a new push-up. They practice throughout the week, and gather sponsors to support their efforts. On Friday, they compete in a 2-minute push-up challenge, completing as many of that week’s push-up as possible. Donors then contribute the money they pledged directly to our Feeding America Fundraising Page at: http://help.feedingamerica.org/goto/saintdavidsP4P.
How Can You Help? Since it might be a little more difficult for grown-ups to find “sponsors” for their push-ups, I encourage you all to join in by learning the push-up of the week, participating in our 2-minute challenge (have fun with it, record it, challenge others) and consider making a small donation to our fundraiser. I will post the weekly push-ups here, but they can also be found on Instagram @fitkidstraining.
The See 10 Do 10 Push-Up challenge already went viral early in quarantine, but shouldn’t we be going viral for a good cause?! I encourage you all to record your challenge and share the challenge by tagging friends and loved ones. Together, we can stay active and set the table for a hunger-free America.
Here Are Last Week and This Week’s Challenge:
Feeding America has done great work over the years, providing food for families in need, but they need our help more than ever to continue their work.
I do not know what it is like to worry about where my next meal is coming from, or if I will be able to keep a roof over my head, but NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THESE BASIC NECESSITIES.
Please consider joining me in my efforts to stay healthy and help others!
In Good Health,
Nick Imbelli
